The house is totally worth a visit, as well as the beautiful gardens in the back! Yabbos?” Max’s crush Allison lives in Ropes Mansion. There are some spots for street parking along the street below Old Burial Hill. It is actually quite an impressive space in a beautiful location surrounded by quaint homes and views of the sea. The cemetery in Marblehead is called Old Burial Hill and is one of New England’s oldest cemeteries. It is open to the public and has the graves of 600 some soldiers from the Revolutionary war. It’s worth the drive for the views, however. It’s about a 15-20 min drive from outside the town of Salem. ![]() He is stopped by the local bullies who steal his shoes and give him the nickname “Hollywood.” Early on, we see Max riding his bike through a cemetery filled with crisp, fallen leaves. There are a few cemetery scenes in the movie. While you may not be able to visit that mystical cottage, it is easy to imagine it from inside Pioneer Village. The Sanderson sisters’ house seems to have been made at a set entirely for the film. You can find Pioneer Village at 98 West Ave. Quick tip when visiting: do not light the black light flame candle if visiting on Hallow’s eve. It’s a unique place to visit, and feels like you have been transformed back in time. This is a reconstruction of what the village may have originally looked like so many centuries ago. The opening scenes of the movie take place in the 1600’s and were filmed at your next stop: Salem’s Pioneer Village. So plan to be very respectful of the family that lives there and their home. The Hocus Pocus house location is very close to the water and can be found at 4 Ocean Avenue. This is a private residence.
